"Trust Me" - after this project I had a thorough understanding of this design software and its capabilities..
The owners of this residence that was being constructed lived in southern Florida. Having only three (3) onsite consultations, this design project came to be via online communication, video conferencing, email exchange of plant information and images and hours of changes. But the result was stunning.
This residence was under some major construction when I first appeared on the scene. With a walk-through that lasted all of 3 hours a conceptual beginning was established. E-mail accounts were set up and exchanged for online communication. A server side updated website was setup in a password protected members area for the client to be provided access to the designs as they progressed and for them to upload directly into specified folders images as deemed appropriate and necessary. A dogwood anchors the arced bed area to the left front with pink azaleas filling the bed beneath. Three (3) boxwoods front the chimney perennials planted throughout this bed and along the side to the right. Flowering shrubs line the bed along the side to the rear deck. The front entrance bed features a stone paver designed walkway with arching beds following the path's contour. Masses of perennials are planted throughout the bed with select focal plants installed in strategic locations to enhance the overall appearance of the garden beds.

• Getting a house valuation before and after the work is done will give you a good indication of the value added. In a recent television series, landscaping was placed 4th out of 10 for top value adding projects. With land and house prices at a premium it’s wise to maximize the outdoor area and create exterior living spaces with street appeal, functionality and useability which appeal to a wide audience.

Landscaping to increase labor productivity

There have been a number of studies conducted that suggest an office or workplace that is properly landscaped has in turn less employee absenteeism and higher retention of staff. People who work in environments that contain a landscaped area with plenty of color also have greater productivity. Why? It is an established fact that humans have an affinity with nature and a desire to remain in contact with it. Color also has a powerful influence on our emotions and perception.

Landscaping to help people recover faster

What better way to recover from an illness or injury than to be able to engage with a beautifully designed garden? Many hospitals now have these areas specifically with patient recovery in mind and it has been proven that a speedier recovery is more likely when the patient is exposed to a beautiful garden.

Landscaping for air purification

We all know that plants are nature's filters. They absorb carbon dioxide for their food production and release oxygen. Planting trees in your garden can assist in reducing the effects of pollution and they can also be used as wind breaks, to reduce unwanted noise, control erosion and even to disperse fog and control deposits of snow.
